How It Works: From a Spreadsheet Link to a Parcel at Your Door

Quick answer

A spreadsheet gives you links; a shopping agent turns them into a parcel. You paste a Weidian or Taobao link into the agent, pay for the item, and the agent receives it at its warehouse in China. It sends you QC photos of your actual item. You approve or reject it, then ship everything together in one parcel and pay shipping by weight. You pay twice — once for the item, once for shipping — and duty on arrival where your country charges it. The five steps are below.

The five steps of an agent order

  1. Find the item and copy its link

    Open a find on this site or any spreadsheet and copy the listing link. What matters is the item ID inside it: a 10-digit number for Weidian, usually 12 digits for Taobao. If the spreadsheet was built for an agent that has closed, the item ID in its links still works.

  2. Paste the link into your agent

    Sign up with an agent and paste the link or item ID into its search bar. The agent shows the listing in English with the seller's price in yuan and your currency. Pick the exact colour and size, and add a note if you want something checked, such as a measurement.

  3. Pay for the item and domestic shipping

    You pay the item price, the seller's shipping to the agent's warehouse, and any service fee. JoyaGoo charges 0%, Superbuy charges nothing on Taobao, Tmall, JD and 1688 orders, and KakoBuy charges per item. Nothing international is paid yet.

  4. Check the QC photos at the warehouse

    When the item arrives, usually within a few days, the agent photographs it. Compare the photos with the listing: colour, logo placement, stitching, and the measurements you asked for. If something's wrong, ask for an exchange or return while the item is still in China.

  5. Combine items and ship the parcel

    Once everything you ordered has arrived, submit a parcel. The agent weighs and packs it and offers shipping lines at different prices and speeds. You pay international shipping now. Duty or VAT may be charged on arrival, depending on your country.

Verdict: Steps 4 and 5 are where agents earn their keep: you see the item before it ships, and many items travel as one parcel.

For light items like T-shirts, the item price is most of the total. For sneakers in their boxes or heavy jackets, shipping can cost as much as the items. That's why combining several items in one parcel matters.

How long does each step take?

  • Seller to warehouse: usually a few days for in-stock items; longer for made-to-order or pre-sale listings.
  • QC photos: typically within a day or two of arrival. EastMallBuy advertises an 8-hour target.
  • Waiting for the rest of your haul: as long as you like within free storage, which runs from 60 to 100 days depending on the agent.
  • International shipping: roughly one to three weeks on common lines, depending on the line and your country's customs.

Duty and tax on arrival, by country

The rules changed a lot in 2025 and 2026. In the US, the $800 duty-free allowance ended for all countries on August 29, 2025, so every parcel can owe duty. In the EU, parcels under €150 pay a flat €3 duty per item category from July 1, 2026, on top of VAT. In the UK, there's no customs duty on consignments under £135, with VAT charged at checkout.   • W2C — "where to cop": asking where to buy an item.
  • QC — quality-check photos your agent takes of your item.
  • GL / RL — "green light" (approve) or "red light" (reject) after QC.
  • Haul — several items shipped together in one parcel.
  • Rehearsal packing — a paid option at some agents to see the packed parcel's weight before you pay for shipping.
  • Shipping line — a carrier route with its own price, speed and rules.
  • Storage period — how long the agent holds items for free before charging or disposing of them.

Do I pay everything at once?

No. You pay for the item and domestic shipping first, then international shipping once your items are at the warehouse.

What if the item in the QC photos is wrong?

Ask the agent to exchange or return it while it's still in China, before you pay international shipping.

Can I use any spreadsheet with any agent?

Yes. The Weidian or Taobao item ID in a spreadsheet link works in any agent.

How long does the whole process take?

Usually two to four weeks from order to delivery: a few days to the warehouse, a day or two for QC photos, then one to three weeks of shipping.
